Ferrexpo: read the product mix behind the production total

Pellets, DR pellets and concentrate describe different production and sales opportunities.

Projects & capacity · Ukraine

Quarterly operating report

Original source: 15 July 2026 · Ferrexpo

What the source reports

Ferrexpo reported 860,213 tonnes of pellet production for the second quarter of 2026, including 163,171 tonnes classified as DR pellets. Its total commercial production also included concentrate. The company described a constrained operating environment and said one pellet line was operating at the time of the report.

Why it matters — IOP analysis

For pellet buyers and project teams, an aggregate iron-ore production figure can obscure changes in product availability. Separate the pellet total, its DR subset and concentrate before comparing periods or estimating the market available to a downstream process.

What this evidence does not establish

These are company-reported results for a defined quarter, not a guarantee of future shipments. A published Fe grade is also not a complete receiving-plant qualification. Do not add DR pellets to total pellets: they are already included.

Questions for an engineering review

  • Which product and reporting period does the figure represent?
  • What chemistry, physical and reduction tests support the intended application?
  • Are logistics and delivery commitments confirmed separately from production?
