In a 26 March 2026 product announcement, Metso positioned its Grate Kiln system for direct-reduction and blast-furnace pellet applications. The supplier highlighted separate control of the grate, kiln and cooler, alternative-fuel options and digital tools. These are supplier descriptions rather than independent comparative test results.
Questions for a project review
Request the design basis behind any proposed performance guarantee, including the feed envelope, product criteria and test method. Ask which options are included in the offered scope and what reference evidence is available for the intended operating conditions.
Keep claims comparable
Technology announcements are useful leads for further investigation. They do not, on their own, establish that one route will outperform another at a specific site. A procurement evaluation should compare equivalent scope and agreed acceptance conditions.
